2014-15 Orientation Workshops
|Venue:||MMC, AHC4, Room 402|
September 16 & 17, 3:30-5pm in AHC4-402, Faculty Mentor Program: 2014-15 Orientation Workshops, with a focus on how to benefit from being and having a mentor. The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), in partnership with the College of Engineering & Computing (CEC), and the Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work are proud to launch the 4th year of the Faculty Mentor Program (FMP). New faculty from the College of Medicine and the College of Law will also be joining the program this year.
Faculty from other colleges interested in participating are also welcome to join. This program is aimed primarily at providing tenure-earning assistant professors with a faculty mentor from outside of his/her home department. To the extent possible, we will attempt to provide a mentor or mentoring opportunities for Associate Professors and Instructors. The FMP is meant to complement departmental mentoring relationships, however, you are also welcome to participate with a mentor or mentee from your own department. We will be continuing our successful collaboration with the Division of Research to bring additional speakers and workshops concerning how to obtain external funding for faculty participants. This program will be sponsored by Dean Suzanna Rose under the SISH banner in partnership with the Division of Research. If interested, please contact us at email@example.com or watch mentor.fiu.edu for updates on future workshops, as well as mentor resources, news, evaluation summaries, photos and information.
