Distinguished Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Mohsen Pourahmadi, Professor, Department of Statistics, Texas A&M University

Our key note speaker, Dr. Mohsen Pourahmadi obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. from Michigan State University and his B.S. from College of Statistics in Tehran. He is currently (since 2008) a Professor at the Department of Statistical at the Texas A&M University, and prior to Texas A&M University he was a Presidential Research Professor at Northern Illinois University. His primary research interests are in Time Series Analysis and Prediction Theory, Multivariate Statistics and Longitudinal Data analysis, High-Dimensional Data Analysis, Financial Data and Stochastic Volatility Models.

He is a prolific researcher, having published two books, the most recent Wiley (2013) on “High Dimensional Covariance Estimation”, and Guest Edited three conference proceedings. His book “Foundations of Time Series and Prediction Theory (Wiley 2001) is one of the most authoritative book in time series and has received excellent reviews. He has over 70 refereed journal publications in statistical and mathematical journals. He has won numerous awards and honors, with over 20 funded grant proposals with majority from National Science Foundation, twelve NSF grants.

He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, Elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and American Mathematical Society. He has been a member of editorial boards of several journals such as JASA, “Journal of Business and Economics”, “Electronic Journal of statistics”, “Statistics and Probability Letters”, “Journal of Applied Mathematics and Stochastic Analysis”, “Journal of Iranian Statistical Society” and “Jordanian Journal of Mathematics and Statistics”. He has supervised over 10 Post-Doc, Ph.D. and MS students and he has been a frequent invited speaker at many national and international conferences and universities.
